You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Some opportunities don’t come again. Just as Paul sensed winter approaching and called for urgency, when God prompts your heart, act quickly. Delayed obedience can be disobedience in disguise. Discern what season you're in right now and do what the Spirit is leading you to do. “Do your utmost to come before winter" (2 Timothy 4:21).
The Christian is to be conditioned by the truth of Scripture, not by the trends of culture. Again, we are to be so primed by the Shepherd that we are not prone to wander. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me" (John 10:27).
There is no sin, no shame, no past, and no pain when you know Jesus. You see, He not only died for our sin and shame, but He is the only one who can redeem our past and our pain. Do you know Him?
Sinners don't need good advice, they need the Good News of Jesus Christ. For ALL have sinned and are dead in it, which means ALL need a Savior in order to rise from it. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
Whatever we take in will be what we live on. In other words, whether it's the truth of the Word or the lies of the world, we will be fueled by what we are fed by. Thus, let us guard the gate of our heart from compromise and...
The enemy cannot steal our salvation, but he can spoil our sanctification. You see, though we are secure in God's hands, we must still be on guard against the devil's plans. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11).
The work of God cannot happen through us unless it has first happened to us. You see, in order to show God's mercy, we must know God's mercy. "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy" (Matthew 5:7).
Christian, use your brain. I’m not talking to the world; I’m talking to true believers. Discernment isn’t just a spiritual gift; it’s a spiritual discipline. It’s forged through...
Why do I speak out about my tragedy? Not to glamorize the recklessness, but to promote the perspective shift; To instigate integrity and demonstrate accountability. I close every assembly with this parable for the audience to consider: "There was a hiker lost in the wilderness, who happened upon another man, a pioneer, resting his back against a tree. The lost hiker, frantic and anxious, approached the pioneer to ask him if he could help him find his way out. The pioneer replied, "I cannot help you find your way out, that is ultimately up to you. But I can tell you of paths that you certainly should not take. I can tell you of ways that led me nowhere. I can tell you of mud bogs, snakes pits, and briar patches that you must steer clear from. But how to get out, well, that's up to you." The hiker was confused and......
Ever hear a hissing sound and thought nothing of it? I highly doubt it, because it is usually the hissing sound that tells us something is leaking – like a bike tire. Not too major of a problem, but neither is it minor, while still requiring the “hiss” to be plugged up and fixed. Thus, in the bike tire example, the hissing tells us that there’s a hole in the tube, making the slight leak hinder the entire bike’s use. And if you do not address the “hisssssing,” you very well could hurt yourself when using the bike. Further, sometimes the hissing can be even more catastrophic like a gas leak or a pipe fault. And anyone who....
Jesus was fully Man to die to the grave; And fully God to rise and to save. The above sounds nice and all, but what am I doing with the knowledge that God saves? I can talk poetically about the Word, which was sent to be “read,” or I can live out the Word inside of me so that I might be read wherever I’m sent. The purpose and power of life is discovered in the.....
I can look out my window, no bars. No mountain of prison towers and fences obstructing my outlook. However, I still compare my current outlook to a mountain climber going over a mountain. The climber’s feet are still planted on the obstacle even though he is at the top and looking down. Don’t misunderstand me - - I say "over it", but I am still touching it! Over the guilt and shame, but still touching it by remorse and remembrance. Over the distressing pain, but still touching it by progressive passion. And even when the mountain......
