You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The devil’s accusations stop where the blood of Jesus starts; and hell’s fury can’t outrun Heaven’s victory. Stay covered by the blood, anchored in the Word, and fearless in your testimony. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death" (Revelation 12:11).
Do not think that talking "about" God is the same as talking "to" God. He desires our attention to be intimate with Him well over us just having casual conversations about Him. Thus, do you know Him or do you just know about Him? "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection" (Philippians 3:10).
"The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever" (I John 2:17). In other words, are you living for the will of the Lord or are you living for the thrills of the world? One way leads to destruction, while the other leads to salvation. Hint: doing the will of God is being obedient to His Word.
It is easy to waste our time on things that are temporal and material over eternal and spiritual. But when the Holy Spirit is given unhindered access to our hearts, He ignites a holy desire within us that enables us to place our time into God’s hands. And when our time is entrusted to God's hands, our lives begin to follow God's plans. "My times are in Your hands" (Psalm 31:15).
Saying "God's will be done" shouldn't be an excuse not to do God's will. You see, God cannot bless what we do not do, which means, He is not going to work out our situations for good until we have first resolved to work out our salvation for His glory. "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:12-13).
“I’m trying here to prevent anyone from saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: (they say) ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say. A man who said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher, he would either be a lunatic--on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg --or else he....
"I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content" (Philippians 4:11). To be content is to be satisfied by God's providence regardless of your circumstance. It's to know that as long as you have faith in Jesus Christ, you will always have everything you need in this life.
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Suffering is often misunderstood, but that’s because we fail to see how God uses it for our good. Jesus learned obedience through suffering (Hebrews 5:8), so how much more must we heed to suffering in order to simply learn. Think about it. We suffer little by little each day, as aging brings us closer to death. So if I already know I’m going to die, shouldn’t I be learning obedience with each and every breath? The problem is not death however, because in Christ you shall never die; but the problem is how we miss the opportunity to have life abundant before “death” by complaining our way to death. Man essentially....
I just got home from church and outside of my place was a retired Easter basket. I say "retired" because you can tell it served its purpose for that one day of the year--Easter Sunday--to hold the contents of chocolate and other choice Easter candies. But now, this basket that once held goodies is presently holding emptiness. It was only "filled up" for the day, and sadly, so it seems, it did not live...
John 3:16! I know you know it because it is one of the most recited, googled, and memorized verses in the entire Bible. It can be seen in the backdrop of some of the largest sporting events as a sign or even etched on fans as face-paint (inspired by Tim Tebow of course). I mean, even nonbelievers know something about John 3:16, maybe not by memory, but most likely by summary. Yet for the believer, has the familiarity of this verse caused the...
In Second Timothy 3:16, it is written, “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God.” The word inspiration in Greek means, “God-breathed.” In other words, when we get into the Bible, it is God’s breath that is able to get into us. His Word in us gives us “room to breathe” (which is one definition of the word....
