You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Worry borrows tomorrow’s problems but spends today’s peace. The weight we imagine for the future often crushes our joy in the present. But God doesn’t ask us to carry tomorrow, He invites us to cast every care onto Him today. “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
The grace of God's heart is stronger than the shame in our hearts. "If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything" (I John 3:20).
Pursue relationships that glorify the heart of God, not ones that impress the eyes of man. "Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm" (Proverbs 13:20).
It doesn't matter what people say about you. It only matters what God says to you. And He says, "You are forgiven in spite of what you've done, for you are redeemed solely because of what I've done. And what I've done has forever covered you because of the sacrifice of My Son. You are mine and you are worth it; this is My doing, and no devil can undo it.”
Sometimes one of the fastest ways to get to where God needs you is to be still. You see, stillness before God often progresses you quicker than movement for God. Therefore, "Be still and know that He is God" (Psalm 46:10).
When we see God in everything, He brings perspective and purpose to everything we see. Perhaps the circumstances you are in may not change, but to see God is to surrender to His unchanging sovereignty and that most certainly changes you.
It is better to fail over and over again at being faithful than to succeed over and over again at things that are faithless. "The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again" (Psalm 24:16).
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
I find it most remarkable that out of all the ways Jesus could have shown Himself to His disciples after His resurrection, one of the ways He chose was to deploy His wounds. He found it necessary to show them “His hands and His side” (John 20:20) as the evidence of His presence. Why would He do that? He could have shown Himself in bodily perfection, but instead He chose to show proof of His humiliation. His scars told the story....
"Dear Heavenly Father, so far today I am doing very well. I have not lied or complained. I have not looked down upon my neighbors nor have I gossiped about others. So far, so good Heavenly Father, but I know I am going to need Your utmost help for the rest of my day. I am asking You now for that guidance because I’m gonna have to get out of bed soon. Amen."
Yesterday was Palm Sunday, so consider this! Palms are one of the only trees that do not rely on outward conditions for inward stability. They survive in environments with overwhelming heat. Their reinforced bark bends with hurricane winds. Internally, they stay nourished by their root systems ability to draw solely and fully from that which is within the earth. Palm trees stay...
This blog is a contemplation from my newly-released book: "Imprisoned by Peace: A View Apart." Written in prison, the book contains 40 reflections that will strike a chord with anyone in need of a spiritual perspective to the natural events in our lives. There is much more to silence than meets the ear. I am around noise all day and all night....
