Jesus spoke words of grace from the cross of shame. He said, "Father forgive them" even as we hung Him. In other words, there is no failure of ours that will ever speak louder than the character of God. His forgiveness is heavier than our sinfulness.

Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Therefore be imitators of God as dear children" (Ephesians 5:1). God is not concerned about "what you do" as much as He is concerned about "who you are." You see, who you are will determine what you do, not the other way around, because "what you do" does not determine "who you are." Therefore, God desires us to discover our identity in Him so that we can then begin "being and doing" as a reflection of Him.

Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: God's behavior towards us needs to be the measure of our behavior towards others. Gracious. Merciful. Beautiful. So let us give out to others the measure of mercy that has been poured out upon us.

In other words, your life has the potential to bring into clearer and closer view a God that so many think is too far to reach. You may be the only Bible somebody reads; and since people are desperate for direction, let your life be the scope that leads them to true salvation.

If you have to look back, do so only to see the fingerprints of God's grace in your past; and then move forward into the blueprint of God's perfect plan for your life. You see, God has allowed the make-up of your yesterday to fittingly prepare you for the rising up of today. Seize the day for God's glory!
