People have been so conditioned to distrust authority that everything becomes a conspiracy theory. And now “just asking questions” has become a cover for rejecting answers. Skepticism isn’t the problem, but when it gives way to aimless blame and empty sarcasm, it reveals the spirit of the age. All the while forgetting: God is still sovereign over the affairs of man, and nothing unfolds outside the boundaries of His will. So instead of spending our days chasing our own worldly "tales," let us anchor our lives in God’s eternal truth. “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
God will get His. To those who are real with it, that's exciting. But to those who are faking it, that ought to be terrifying. In other words, whatever we sow, we will eventually grow. Whether now or later, God will get His.
Faith in a living God is the only remedy that can revive a dead society. Without faith in Jesus infusing our moral courage, every attempt at "reform" or "progress" will leave behind nothing but carnage. "Moral courage is in short supply and beyond valuable. Yet sadly, it's usually the most absent characteristic in men. If you won't stand for your faith, you won't stand at all" (Lt. General "Jerry" Boykin).
Religion can never grant us peace. Only Jesus can. Politics will never win us liberty. Only Jesus will. Philosophy has never produced lasting love. Only Jesus has. Nothing in this known world can save a soul. Only Jesus.
Real men love Jesus, live for Jesus, and lead others to Jesus. Period. For there is no other realness apart from Christ-righteousness.
Now is never the right time to be silent about your faith. Remember however, the lion doesn't always need to roar to be noticed. Just love loud and live loud, while showing others that Jesus is who the noise is all about.
Just as the sun is sure to rise daily, so is the man who trusts in the Lord personally--"Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand" (Psalm 37:24).
What we are witnessing in these protests and walkouts is not random unrest, but the fruit of decades of moral decay left untreated. When a nation rejects God’s order long enough, disorder does not merely grow, it metastasizes. Not because rightly ordered authority causes rebellion, but because rebellion...
What is this blog getting me? Where is this blog taking me? Well, it gets me into your home and hopefully into your heart. And it’s taking me all over the world without me having to physically be there myself. Yet, I’m not satisfied. I pray, “O Lord that I may bless You indeed and that You would expand my opportunity, my influence, and my territory for Your name sake…..” In other words....
I'm only 2 months displaced from the place of prison and my freedom reminds me that there is no freedom in freedom itself. I've caught myself from time to time becoming imprisoned once again to the flow of freedom. Caught up in the "go-go-go" of freedom. And I realize....
I'm sitting in Atlantic City in a large ballroom at the NJ Wardens Conference and I had this thought. 'Less than 2 months ago I was sitting in prison governed by a parole panel and now I'm sitting on a panel next to a former governor.'
What a humbling reception we had today! The community spirit at “The Room Church” was not only contagious, it was continuous. The Room Church is Pastor Victor Hudson’s church, located in Bordentown, NJ; and it was an honor to be a part of their church family today, as several groups of us met there for worship.
