You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Worry borrows tomorrow’s problems but spends today’s peace. The weight we imagine for the future often crushes our joy in the present. But God doesn’t ask us to carry tomorrow, He invites us to cast every care onto Him today. “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: What's the highest point of life? To point people to Jesus. Period.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: It doesn't matter what you're working on, if you don't take the time to put the work in on your knees, than the work before you will never amount to anything. To put your best foot forward each day is to put both knees to the floor each day. "O Lord, Your will be done. Amen."
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends" (John 15:13). Love always requires sacrifice. One must be willing to give up something in one area in order to produce something else in another area. If you aren't willing to sacrifice for love, than you aren't willing to experience love; For there is no greater love than sacrificial love. Ask Jesus!
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: Stay encouraged! Good things take time and a God-thing is always on time. In God's economy, delays are not denials, so keep praying and keep working while waiting. Just stay encouraged!
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "When He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet" (Luke 24:40). Don't hide your scars. Let them tell your story as a way to help somebody else get through their agony. Even Jesus bore His scars to soothe a doubting heart, so why not let your scars be where somebody else's healing starts?
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God" (Romans 8:28). Nothing has been accidental or coincidental in your life. In fact, everything that has transpired has been providential in your life. Think of it! God has ordered your entire life for your maximum benefit and His supreme glory; but will you accept it--the good, the bad, the ugly--which is the first step in seeing His perfect plan and His gracious hand in your life?
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
I find it most remarkable that out of all the ways Jesus could have shown Himself to His disciples after His resurrection, one of the ways He chose was to deploy His wounds. He found it necessary to show them “His hands and His side” (John 20:20) as the evidence of His presence. Why would He do that? He could have shown Himself in bodily perfection, but instead He chose to show proof of His humiliation. His scars told the story....
"Dear Heavenly Father, so far today I am doing very well. I have not lied or complained. I have not looked down upon my neighbors nor have I gossiped about others. So far, so good Heavenly Father, but I know I am going to need Your utmost help for the rest of my day. I am asking You now for that guidance because I’m gonna have to get out of bed soon. Amen."
Yesterday was Palm Sunday, so consider this! Palms are one of the only trees that do not rely on outward conditions for inward stability. They survive in environments with overwhelming heat. Their reinforced bark bends with hurricane winds. Internally, they stay nourished by their root systems ability to draw solely and fully from that which is within the earth. Palm trees stay...
This blog is a contemplation from my newly-released book: "Imprisoned by Peace: A View Apart." Written in prison, the book contains 40 reflections that will strike a chord with anyone in need of a spiritual perspective to the natural events in our lives. There is much more to silence than meets the ear. I am around noise all day and all night....
