You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Our present world may look bad, but nothing happens apart from the plan of God. You see, God is able to recycle man's rebellion to bring about His redemption. "He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings..." (Daniel 2:21).
God not only orders our steps but even our stops. So whether God says "stop" or "step," His peace comes to us when His orders are kept. "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way" (Psalm 37:23).
Hope in Christ will get you to stand up even if the whole world is telling you to stay down and shut up. You see, hope in Christ alone is the anchor that holds us and emboldens us. "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil" (Hebrews 6:19).
When you're living for Jesus, you can expect haters to surface. As a result, learn to keep your eyes on Him and you will not have ears for them. "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12).
The world will do everything it can to keep you from hearing the voice of God. Because the moment we stop hearing from God is the moment we stop living for God. "Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it" (Hebrews 2:1).
When we look to a changing world, such a shaky view will shake our faith. But when we look to an unchanging God, such a steady view births a stable faith. "Look to the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!" (Psalm 105:4).
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
I find it most remarkable that out of all the ways Jesus could have shown Himself to His disciples after His resurrection, one of the ways He chose was to deploy His wounds. He found it necessary to show them “His hands and His side” (John 20:20) as the evidence of His presence. Why would He do that? He could have shown Himself in bodily perfection, but instead He chose to show proof of His humiliation. His scars told the story....
"Dear Heavenly Father, so far today I am doing very well. I have not lied or complained. I have not looked down upon my neighbors nor have I gossiped about others. So far, so good Heavenly Father, but I know I am going to need Your utmost help for the rest of my day. I am asking You now for that guidance because I’m gonna have to get out of bed soon. Amen."
Yesterday was Palm Sunday, so consider this! Palms are one of the only trees that do not rely on outward conditions for inward stability. They survive in environments with overwhelming heat. Their reinforced bark bends with hurricane winds. Internally, they stay nourished by their root systems ability to draw solely and fully from that which is within the earth. Palm trees stay...
This blog is a contemplation from my newly-released book: "Imprisoned by Peace: A View Apart." Written in prison, the book contains 40 reflections that will strike a chord with anyone in need of a spiritual perspective to the natural events in our lives. There is much more to silence than meets the ear. I am around noise all day and all night....
