You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
A preoccupation with worldly things will always lead to a hopeless end. But a preoccupation with Christ the King will always lead to endless hope. "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us" (Romans 5:5).
The only way to keep the cares of life from weighing us down is to cast them up to a God who lifts us up. You see, because God cares, we can trust Him with our cares. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).
Contentment isn't about what you have or don't have but recognizing God has you. And to have a God who has you is to know He has your needs covered too. "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).
Our souls will always be restless in life until they come to rest in Christ. "Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you" (Psalm 116:7).
Ignorance of God's goodness is the cause of all bitterness. Because when we truly grasp God's grace, the root of bitterness will have no grip on our lives. "See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no root of...
There is no refuge from Christ, there is only refuge in Christ. In other words, the only way to be saved from the wrath of God is to be saved by the love of God. "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in...
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Jesus' 7 last words uttered from the throne of the cross: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do"(Luke 23:34). Mercy came out of Him, because that's what was truthfully inside of Him. Are we capable of doing the same, knowing that many people do not actually know what they do? And deeper, because Christ still says this....
People often ask me, "What is Proverbs 3:5-6" because they see it tattooed on my arm. And without any thought, I usually just recite it off the top of my dome like the Pledge of Allegiance, but rarely considering whether or not I am allegiant to that pledge. I think so many times we take familiar Bible verses just as words...
It is true that God doesn't trust everyone with the same "amount" of things-- such as talents or various treasures (resources). However, I am convinced that He does trust us all with the same amount of time. (A second, a minute, and a 24-hour day are the same in New Jersey as they are in New Guinea). And when.....
Many people will agree that there isn’t a more confused, bi-polar month, than the month of March. The familiar saying goes, “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” For me, the month will always conjure up a pent-up series of emotions that I will live with forever. It’s hard to believe it’s been 9 years...
