You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
When we chase the wind, we end up empty. When we chase the Word, we end up full. The world offers noise; Christ offers nourishment. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
God appraised your life priceless when He went to the cross and made you righteous. You see, the Father bankrupted heaven when He gave us the wealth of Jesus' life; we cannot add nor take away from this appraisal, for we have been bought with a price. The cross therefore, proves you are uniquely special to God.
God's peace for us is always in the present. So when we stress the future, peace can no longer be our governor. Therefore, let us not worry about what tomorrow may bring circumstantially. But let us hold our peace and trust that God is already there faithfully.
In order to be the hands of Jesus, one must know the heart of Jesus. His heart bleeds compassion over condemnation and desires to lift others up to grace, not push them down to shame. Thus, let us be His hands--ones that look to love--so that others can find His heart.
In God's economy, even a failure can be classified as a success when the failure draws you closer to the Savior. In other words, because of the chemistry of the cross, all things--even bad things--can be recycled to make a good thing.
The truth of what God thinks about you is more important than the lies that others may think about you. Thus, you can choose to either be devoured by the fear of man or you can choose to be empowered by the fear of the Lord, but you can't do both.
It is better to wake up in dark circumstances with God’s presence than to wake up alone in presumed light without God’s assurance or confirmation. Even in times of trial and darkness, when with God, the lessons and understanding are deeper in the dark than in the pretentious light.
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Deep thoughts from a deep heart--which only comes from deep scars. I still feel the crevice of pain every time I re-hash my story to the audiences that God has ordained for me to address. I know that I do not deserve the voice, far from it. But the students and youth deserve the message. And the community deserves this type of response, and all of this is in spite of me. I strongly desire.....
I’m angry! Yes, I really am! And guess what? It’s acceptable when your anger is a derivative of what angers God. And this was one of the many lessons Pastor Matt Stokes poured forth today to the community at Coastal Christian Ocean City (CCOC). It was a much-needed message that beats near, dear, and clear to the heart of God; especially as it is manifested in the life of Jesus. When do we......
It’s weird knowing that everyone I was extremely close to in prison is now out—and life goes on for all of us…. Except my friend Sean McGuirk. My BFAM! (Brother From Another Mother). Sean is still incarcerated and has about 22 months left to serve on his 8-year sentence. He has recently been......
How do you silence the critic without coming out of character? It’s easy. Take what they are conjecturing and use it as an opportunity for lecturing. My wedding is less than 3 weeks away, and according to the grapevine consensus -- Sarah and I are.....
