You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The devil’s accusations stop where the blood of Jesus starts; and hell’s fury can’t outrun Heaven’s victory. Stay covered by the blood, anchored in the Word, and fearless in your testimony. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death" (Revelation 12:11).
It is OK to allow your conscience to be your guide, if it's God's Word that guides your conscience. "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105).
Christ purchased us on the cross, which means, He not only owns us but we are His own. Think about that! "O Lord, since You own us, spend us for Your glory." "In Him we have redemption through His blood...
We become like whatever we bow to. If it's the world, we become worldly. If it's God, we become godly. Either way, our hearts are formed by our posture. "Those who make them [idols] will...
Christian, make it your New Year's resolution to not let the culture around you speak louder than the Christ within you. Happy New Year to you and yours!
The year may turn over on the calendar, but nothing will change unless hearts turn over to Christ as Lord and Savior. Let us therefore, be resolute in Him alone as we move into a new year with so many unknowns. "Brethren, I do not count myself to...
There is no great awakening without a rude awakening. And we can rest assured that through every crisis of this past year, God was arousing His Church to know faith over fear. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of...
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
Truly it was a great honor to be invited--by the graduating seniors and the Administration of Atlantic Christian School--to be their 2015 commencement speaker. As I took the stage, I knew there were probably a lot of people who were wondering who I was and why was I up on stage with the honorary participants of the night. So I begin, “And in case you are wondering ‘who I am’ and ‘why am I up here?’ Well, please allow me to join you in that question….(dramatic pause)….but please also allow me to humbly propose to you, the answer: But by.....
(Written by 350 lb Little John--pic from 2003 in Rahway State prison yard): I always thought power came from fear, or carrying a gun, or wielding a variety of weapons like bats, black jacks, knives or brass knuckles. I was mostly the brawn and seldom the brains and I liked it that way. It was much easier-- beat this one, break that one, damage him or worse. My life as a mob enforcer wasn’t to try to figure things out or set up complex schemes. My sole reason for being was to instill fear into people so they ‘would’ think twice about not paying a debt, a gambling bet or the vig on some shy money. I instilled fear because of my enforcer tactics: smack people around, beat someone....
Alright, alright, I hear all the buzz. We praise strength and those willing to go to great lengths to “be true to themselves.” But quite frankly, I don’t have enough time to “keep up with the Kardashians” or this worlds crazy shenanigans. I will say this however--I do think the “Caitlin Jenner” transition is mind boggling; but I am in no position to judge another persons journey. Besides, Jesus loves him just as much as He loves ALL. There is not a single individual that can escape the Savior’s Love, for He died for the world. So let’s get that straight. Having said that, I must add that when we pursue a path, we must be careful not to miss the boat, because we are not the “captains” of...
This blog is for me. It’s my reminder to remember where I once was and the work that only God could have ever accomplished. It’s so easy to forget the past places we’ve been and even the past faces we’ve seen. For me, the place was prison; and for this blog, the face is a young man named Tommy. When I first met Tommy, his nickname was Toast. Tommy Toast. And he “earned” this name because he spent a lot of time being “burnt out.” You see, Tommy was a self-proclaimed heroin addict. His addiction made heroin his salvation. However, his pursuit for the false salvation of drugs only left him so high that his actions consequentially led him to be so low. Oh so low. How low can you go? Well, this level has only one condition and position lower, and that is.....
