You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
The Lord will shake our world when our grip on it becomes greater than our grip on Him. And to let go is to know you're not holding Him but He is holding you. "Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that...
It is impossible to be like Christ if we do not spend time with Christ. And if we neglect this discipline, how can we claim to be a disciple of Him? "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher" (Luke 6:40).
God is faithful always and in all ways. And even when we cannot see evidence of His work, we can still trust His providence is at work. Always and in all ways. "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).
When we allow God to unmask us of our sin and shame, we give God access to remake us into the image of His Son. We go from sinners to sons and daughters. “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” (John 4:29)
Whatever is keeping you from the Lord needs to be removed from your life. Be it a relationship, a hobby or habit, it needs to be removed and replaced with the Lord. "I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved" (Psalm 16:8).
Peace is not the absence of crisis but the presence of Christ. Because when you are in Christ, it is possible to be in a storm while not allowing the storm to be in you. "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the...
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
My first Thanksgiving home and I am extremely grateful for where I am living. However, this Thanksgiving in particular--back in freedom--has me giving thanks for my past prison living. You see, for the past 4 years, my Thanksgiving was stripped of family, friends, and festivities. It was reduced to a mess-hall style meal, with canned cranberry as the most tasteful portion of the meal. Rubber turkey, watery mashed potatoes, and of course rice--even though it was supposed to be stuffing-- was served with every meal. For example, rice pudding was the dessert and the soup, just add water. In prison, you have to learn to love rice. Because hate it or love it, they are serving it. Anyway, as the traditional layers of Thanksgiving were completely peeled away.....
Have you ever heard something said about you that is false, yet certain people are convinced it's true? Well, I have. More times than I'd care to recall. And regardless of all the other times false news filled somebody else's ears with wax that blocks out the truth, the freshest is always the most flagrant. I don't need to go into explicit detail about what I'm talking about, but I will explicate what's false in order to regulate what's true. You see.....
I wonder… if Jesus were alive today, how would He use social media? Would He have a fan page on Facebook? Millions of followers on Twitter? Miraculous picture posts on Instagram? I wonder…how He would use YouTube—would He tell dynamic and enigmatic parables or would He teach about relationship over religion, love over law? I wonder…would Jesus use Vine? Would He join LinkedIn? Would Jesus Snapchat? I wonder if He would get so frustrated with having a “fan page” on Facebook that He.....
We're back! Las Vegas was a great time, but without gratefulness it would just be a waste of time. So with that being clearly stated, Sarah and I remain grateful to have been where we were and also to be where we are.....right where God has planted us; which is always right because we both only desire Gods plans for us. So where from here as a married man? Well......
