You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
In a world that is hell-bent on tearing others down, let us be the antithesis by lifting others up in the Name of Jesus. How do we do this? Simple, go out of your way to encourage someone today! "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing" (I Thessalonians 5:11).
Spend time today thanking God for what you have and don't have. If you have it, God gave it. If you don't have it, God knows you don't need it. "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (I Thessalonians 5:18).
Let this be a reminder: It's not our righteous acts that attach us to Christ. It's our attachment to Christ that produces righteous acts.
Our reliance and dependence upon God must begin fresh and anew each day, because yesterday's devotions are not enough to carry us through today's challenges. Therefore, let us pray, "Give us this day our daily bread"--the bread of life--which is Jesus Christ.
Nothing in this world can change our relation to sin unless we become "born again." Because to choose Christ as the King of your soul is to dethrone sin from being in control. "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." --Jesus
The Bible says to "cast your cares," not carry them (1 Peter 5:7). Why? Because God not only cares for us, but He also knows what anxiety can do to us. Thus, what are you holding onto that you need to give to God because He cares for you?
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
“A mans gift makes room for him and brings him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16). In other words, blessed is the man who realizes his gift is from God and that God is the one who makes the room for him to stand before great men…or even better-- to stand before children. This past Sunday jumpstarted a series of speaking (and writing) engagements for me, that truly highlights the truth of the above proverb. Having the blessed opportunity to speak about “David and Goliath” to the children’s church at Cape Fellowship in Cape May Court House, really brought a tangible joy to what God has called me to do. Seeing such childlike sincerity.....
Everyone has haters, that’s just the way its been. And everyone’s been a hater, that’s just the way of sin. But once you know the Repudiator of sin, you can begin to love and not hate, and all because of Him. The Christ that rejects sin in a Christ rejecting world is looking to love even haters through a Christ receptive heart! “But I say to you, love your enemies” (Matthew 5:44). So, I proclaim that I love even my haters, the ones that wanted to see me fail. The ones that....
I stand on Christ alone as my foundation. Without Him, all other ground is sinking sand. Quicksand. Thus, I need His legs to stand! I state that, confidently and experientially, to say this: God has been preparing “tables” before me in the presence of my enemies and I am excited for what is to come with such influences. The reality is that none of these opportunities have been afforded to me because of my college degree or athletic pedigree. These past building blocks aren’t the main reasons for my present platforms. I mean they are stepping stones to be leveraged with every influential step I take, but they are.....
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time sitting back and watching the world around me with its relentless propaganda of trash. If the ways of the world are unapologetically belligerent in putting out their message, then why should I be any less brazen with my conviction. Hence, #iCONVICTION. It’s mine, God gave it to me, so I’m owning it; and with every platform He gives me, I am cloning it. “That’s not the way God would do it,” some may conjecture. Really?
