You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Light doesn’t argue with darkness, it simply shines into it. And darkness has no defense against even the smallest flame. In the same way, you don’t have to out-shout the culture or win every argument, you just have to out-shine it with Christ in you. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
If we don't see God as faithful, we'll never see suffering as useful. You see, to trust God as always good in His doings is to not need to know what He's doing to know it's for our good. "And we know all things work together for good to those who love God" (Romans 8:28).
Our confidence in a trying circumstance needs to be based on the right deliverance. And the right deliverance isn't always about God getting us out of trouble, but more so about God getting the trouble out of us. "I sought the LORD and He delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4).
Salvation isn’t about “just accepting" Jesus. Salvation is about realizing Jesus accepts you and makes you just. Big difference. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:23-24).
The government will not elect the gospel and schools do not respect the gospel. The courts no longer protect the gospel and the world at large rejects the gospel. Yet by God's grace alone, salvation goes to anyone...
Is your thinking formed by culture or Scripture? Truth or error? One way not only conforms to the world, but it also makes compromises with sin; while the other way is transformed by the Lord and knows the promises of the Son.
Today, let us be humbled by the love of Christ who freely gave us His life. You see, He chose not to evade the cross but to endure the cross. Let us therefore, "look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith...
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
(ThrowBack to Prison) I’ve met so many Killa’s along the way so far on this prison journey. Actually, let me elaborate on that statement. I have met so many inmates with the nick-names of Killa thus far. Killa C. Killa B. And every other letter attached to the word ‘kill’ with the replacement of ‘a’ instead of the proper ‘er’ ending. Then there are the countless Murda’s I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Murda, not murder, but Murda G and even a G-Murder. There’s been one Trauma and several....
Accountability always unlocks opportunities. And when God gives you a vision, He always confirms it with His provision. So as long as I govern my #iCONVICTION with the Lord’s leadership, then I will always be following “goodness and mercy”—or they will be following me! On that note, I was invited to speak at Coastal Christian Ocean City tonight--the 22nd--at 7 PM. I will be teaching from one of the most quoted Psalms in the Bible, yep you guessed it, Psalm 23. With a message that is intertwined with my testimony, come join us as we see if we know this Psalm by just “memory or intimacy?” Can we only verbally quote this Psalm or....
The everyday pressures I face, when compared to my former pressures, is the difference between a hurricane and a light rain. An umbrella adequately covers one; but there are limited safety precautions for the other. Prison pressure was a hurricane, making life’s current pressure nothing but a light rain. I was in an earthly form of hell for over 4 and 1/2 years, yet I emerged....
In honor of my mother’s newly released book “SLAMMED,” and it’s emphasis on faith in God in the midst of a storm, I would like to share an abbreviated version of the words spoken at my brother John’s funeral -- nine years ago-- on behalf of my mother by her friend. (It’s worth the longer read!)-------- An amazing thing happened three decades ago in Bayside Village. There in the spring of 1978, John and Cherri Olsen—that’s my husband and me and our baby son John moved into the barn-style house at 110 Oakdale Ave. directly across the street from the barn-style house at 109 Oakdale Ave, where John and Andrea Maher lived with their baby son, John. And I noticed right away that their house was......
