You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Spiritual darkness doesn’t rush in, it creeps in when light fades. The greatest threat to truth isn’t open rebellion, but quiet compromise. And history proves: when the Church loses conviction, culture breeds deception. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
Faith isn't about using God for our own happiness. Faith is about glorifying God no matter what happens to us. In other words, can you trust that God is good even if the outcome from your perspective isn't good?
Your life may begin to take on water, but when you are in a relationSHIP with Jesus, you will not go under. "For He is the Lord who sat enthroned at the flood, and He is the Lord who sits as King forever” (Psalm 29:10).
Real friends are those who have the faith to pray for you, the heart to cry with you, the hope to believe in you, and the character to sharpen you; but most importantly, real friends are those whose influence draws you closer to Jesus.
Whether the Lord is the sender of the storm or the causer of the storm, you can trust that He’s at the center of the storm as the Savior in the storm. You see, the Lord allow storms to touch us because the Lord wants to still the storm within us.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And we will not make it to heaven because of our good works. We will make it there because of His shed blood. No one can get to the Father except by recognizing that His sacrifice is what paid our price.
At the cross → ALL sin is forgiven and grace is given. At the cross → death is defeated and life is completed. At the cross → every hurt can be healed and every scar can be revealed. At the cross → God entered mans wretchedness, giving man the opportunity to enter God's presence.
Christian, use your brain. I’m not talking to the world; I’m talking to true believers. Discernment isn’t just a spiritual gift; it’s a spiritual discipline. It’s forged through...
Let's just say I couldn't see this day six years ago.....though, while I was "there", I imagined it every year that my family was here. And it is the imagination that can often be a preview of coming attractions. Anyway, last time I was in Florida was 6 years ago--post-tragedy and pre-prison. And as Magic Kingdom was an amusement option during that time with my family--please understand--it wasn't ALL "Disney" for me....In fact, I would soon be....
("Imprisoned by Peace" is Book #1 of 5 from the Core Conviction Series and was written while I was in prison): Where have I been most of my young life thus far? I have been all over the country in my travels with soccer, from childhood as a novice player to adulthood as a professional athlete. I have been to so many great colleges and universities, visiting those campuses either for pleasure or sports-related activities. I have even lived in some beautiful cities in my day. But where have I been while being where I was? Now in prison, I realize that though I have been all over and claimed to be a man of faith, I made this claim when I was “beside myself.” I never fully understood that I was going through the motions in life spiritually and that there needed to be a catalyst that would bring me “back to myself.” I found my way from here to there, but I was lost! This View Apart from my prison experience is...
I’m going against the culture curve at a frequency so loud that the message will be heard. The world takes no shame in their game--so why should I--when it’s their message that fouls up the brain and fills it with lies. Where is the voice in the gap calling America’s youth back? Not Joel Osteen and a sugar coated appeal! But for the sake of the soul, we need the truth so raw, the gospel message so real. I’ll tell it to you straight with uncompromising conviction. Forging my way in the wilderness and not scared of such friction. It’s not my opinion anyway nor my attempt to sway your opinion; it’s just my behavior that's following the very life of a Champion. Jesus the Christ, who went against the culture curve Himself by....
I was recently “tweeted at” from 2 different students. Not only 2 different students, but students from 2 different schools. And not only 2 different schools; but 2 different climates that defined the culture in each of those schools. You see, upon entering the one school I was personally greeted by the Superintendent, who sat with me for 30 minutes “shooting the breeze,” and even encouraged me to keep speaking out (though he had not heard the message yet). At the other school, I wasn’t met or greeted by anyone on staff. I was actually ignored until I asked if I could find my way to the auditorium to set up. And one thing I’ve learned from doing this on a daily basis is that the culture of any school starts at the top and flows downward....
