You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
At the end of Paul’s life, we don’t see a spotlight on himself, we see a list of names highlighting others. Quiet servants. Hidden helpers. Ordinary people who stayed faithful. In a world that celebrates fame, God honors faithfulness. (See 2 Timothy 4:19-22)
To look back in regret is to not be able to move forward into grace. Because although God is the same yesterday, today and forever, He is also a God of present help. Meaning, He cannot lead you forward into His purpose if you are always looking backward into pity.
God will get His. To those who are real with it, that's exciting. But to those who are faking it, that ought to be terrifying. In other words, whatever we sow, we will eventually grow. Whether now or later, God will get His.
Faith in a living God is the only remedy that can revive a dead society. Without faith in Jesus infusing our moral courage, every attempt at "reform" or "progress" will leave behind nothing but carnage. "Moral courage is in short supply and beyond valuable. Yet sadly, it's usually the most absent characteristic in men. If you won't stand for your faith, you won't stand at all" (Lt. General "Jerry" Boykin).
Religion can never grant us peace. Only Jesus can. Politics will never win us liberty. Only Jesus will. Philosophy has never produced lasting love. Only Jesus has. Nothing in this known world can save a soul. Only Jesus.
Real men love Jesus, live for Jesus, and lead others to Jesus. Period. For there is no other realness apart from Christ-righteousness.
Now is never the right time to be silent about your faith. Remember however, the lion doesn't always need to roar to be noticed. Just love loud and live loud, while showing others that Jesus is who the noise is all about.
Christian, use your brain. I’m not talking to the world; I’m talking to true believers. Discernment isn’t just a spiritual gift; it’s a spiritual discipline. It’s forged through...
What are you willing to die for? Now live for....
I was the most disciplined undisciplined person in the world. In academics, mom never had to remind me to study. Scholarly success was habitual. Homework done. Assignment complete. Test aced. Distinguished honors. I was disciplined to be the best student expected of me—though secretly complacent—I did enough to surpass my peers. In athletics, dad never had to remind me to train. Athletic success was innate. Gym time. Diet time. Game time. All-star honors. I was disciplined to be the best athlete required of me—though only self-satisfied—I did just enough to....
It’s hard to write these days….. probably because it’s easier to see right these days. I mean compared to all the wrong that I used to write about because it was easier to find at least one hard lesson a day, when I was working my thoughts out. Today there is less pressure pressing and less chaos confessing. You see, all the turmoil use to speak clearly to me, and I......
Things may not add up right now in your life, but do not lose heart. Sometimes the events of life aren’t exactly what we intended or prayed for, and it is in that misunderstanding that we lose hope and faith. Sometimes an event blind sides us to the point of paralysis, where mind, body and spirit are held captive by the pain and shock of what we just experienced. If that sounds like where you are at right now, consider Mary’s experience. Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, must have lost....
