You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The Word of God is not meant to be edited, it’s meant to be echoed. In a world allergic to truth, we don’t adjust the message to fit the moment; we proclaim it and trust that for every moment it fits. Soft sermons may soothe, but only sound doctrine saves. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…” (2 Timothy 4:3).
Show me the worst sinner and I will show you a willing Savior. If you didn't know, Jesus can save anyone from anywhere who has done anything. "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!" (Romans 7:24)
Trouble may touch us, but in Christ, trouble cannot take us. In fact, it not only cannot take us, but we can take it to God who is able to turn it into triumph. "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place" (2 Corinthians 2:14).
The Apostate Church is alive and from hell. Its sole purpose is to counterfeit the Gospel and contort the truth of the Bible. You see, since deception and delusion are at an all time high, the true Church needs to courageously hold the line. And by the way, you can...
Without affliction, we often don’t change our direction. As David wrote, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey Your word” (Psalm 119:67). In other words, God will allow an affliction to grace our lives in order to move us closer to His life.
On the cross, love won. On the cross, sin is gone. On the cross, redemption started. On the cross, death was thwarted. On the cross, He bore our shame. On the cross, He knew our name. On the cross, Oh what a Savior. On the cross, no grace is...
The very One the world wants dead is the only One who died for the world. You see, the mob today still yells "crucify Him" in the way they reject the One True God. And yet, though the world rejects the Lord, that doesn't stop how the Lord...
I can’t stop thinking about the No Kings protests, not just the intentions of it, but what was revealed by it.At its core, it was never about Trump; it was about rebellion against any higher authority, both political and divine. Their cry of No Kings echoes Psalm2:3, “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their...
It's true, you never really know what you've got until it's gone. But also, in some situations, it takes being gone to realize what you've got. Being back in Florida with my family for the first time in 6 years has taught me a humbling lesson about the void that I left my parents with since I've been gone. Other family members, who are here with us now, (and were here in years past) have told me privately how both my mother and my father have a different type of vacation relief this time around. You see, it's as if--for the past 5 Florida trips--they've left behind a "peace" of luggage that was locked up and....
You really can't walk a few feet in Disney World without seeing people taking photographs. Most of those photo op's involve posing in front of a scenic background or vibrant foreground. Whether it's a giant castle behind you or Minnie Mouse next to you, there is just something "magical" about capturing the moment....or is it more about capturing our own likeness? I'm sorry, this is just how my mind works these days! Perhaps we love seeing ourselves in a picture because deep down inside we are reminiscing about that which is eternal. Perhaps it's not the external image that we are.....
Let's just say I couldn't see this day six years ago.....though, while I was "there", I imagined it every year that my family was here. And it is the imagination that can often be a preview of coming attractions. Anyway, last time I was in Florida was 6 years ago--post-tragedy and pre-prison. And as Magic Kingdom was an amusement option during that time with my family--please understand--it wasn't ALL "Disney" for me....In fact, I would soon be....
("Imprisoned by Peace" is Book #1 of 5 from the Core Conviction Series and was written while I was in prison): Where have I been most of my young life thus far? I have been all over the country in my travels with soccer, from childhood as a novice player to adulthood as a professional athlete. I have been to so many great colleges and universities, visiting those campuses either for pleasure or sports-related activities. I have even lived in some beautiful cities in my day. But where have I been while being where I was? Now in prison, I realize that though I have been all over and claimed to be a man of faith, I made this claim when I was “beside myself.” I never fully understood that I was going through the motions in life spiritually and that there needed to be a catalyst that would bring me “back to myself.” I found my way from here to there, but I was lost! This View Apart from my prison experience is...
